So at the end of 2017 I had some time off available, unfortunately my hubs didn't...and I really didn't want to just hang around the house for a week without anything to do, so I decided to take a solo trip to Spain 🇪🇸, last minute as usual 😁. My plan was to go to Barcelona, but usually only seasonal flights go there directly during the summertime from DFW, so I had to make a stop in Madrid since it was winter.
Upon arrival, I took a train from Madrid straight to Barcelona. I stayed there most of the week, and slept at a hostel. My first time...and my first time traveling solo for fun. It was interesting to say the least. I definitely am more of a non-solo traveler, that's for sure.
My hostel was super nice, it's the Rodamón Barcelona Hostel...clean, budget friendly, in a great area and a nice staff. Totally recommend it. One of the things I loved was the graffiti, got to see lots of it on the walking tours I did. I also found a new love for the architectural style of Gaudí, his work is ALL OVER the city. It's quite intriguing. I really want to go back to Barcelona, but with my hubs of course...and in the summer to hit the beach! Also lots of little towns around and the mountains that I'd like to visit.
As far as Madrid, I only spent about 24 hrs. there so not too much to post on it. As I said, I need to go back with more time. If you'd like to see more photos from my trip though, check out my 'gram.
